Description
USS Dolphin (AGSS-555) was a U.S. Navy diesel-electric research submarine commissioned in 1968 and decommissioned in 2007. Built for deep-sea testing, she reached depths over 3,000 feet, conducting experiments in sonar, torpedo systems, and undersea communications. The Navy’s last non-nuclear submarine, Dolphin now serves as a museum ship in San Diego, symbolizing innovation in deep-submergence technology.
