Issue Number Two of the “Rare & Unusual Paint Schemes
Captured P-51B (serial unknown), redesignated Kennueng T9 + HK.
In 1943, Hauptman “Ted” Rosarius was tasked with forming a Versuchsstaffel of captured enemy aircraft that would serve to familiarise pilots of the Reichsverteidigung (German Air Defense) with the strengths and weaknesses of Allied Fighter aircraft. This unit, the 2nd Staffel of the Versuchtverband Oberkommando der Luftwaffe (Trials and Research Unit of the Luftwaffe High Command) received all of the captured aircraft. Once those had been thoroughly flown and tested, they wer flown to different frontline units. This unusual formation became known as the Wanderzirkus Rosarius (Rosarius’ Travelling Circus).
Originally based on Marek’s 1/50 scale P-51 B and C model, this design has been upscaled to 1/33 and completely repainted with this historic livery.
Kit contains BASIC assembly diagrams and 5 pages of parts.
The kit also features other upgrades like photorealistic elements and simulated landing gear wells.
Also included is an optional “Upgrade Kit” with parts to modify the model.
Items like a full Cockpit, new Wing root fairings, and other upgraded parts, are included.
