Adonkin Vasili was born April 7, 1913 in the village Khokhlova now Belgorod region. In World War II he was pilot in 72-th Composite Air Regiment (6 th Fighter Division, Air Force of the Northern Fleet). By July 1943  made 365 sorties, including 31 to attack the troops, military installations and vessels of the enemy. He was awarded Hero of the Soviet Union and with the Order of Lenin and medal “Gold Star” on Jan. 22, 1944. Awarded the Order of Lenin and 3 orders of the Red Banner.On March 17, 1944  Major Adonkin was killed in aerial combat  in the area of Lake Ecker (Finland).,
