1/33 Aces G E Horricks Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIb Paper Model
This kit is part of the Aces of Ecardmodels Series and Ecardmodel Exclusive and Nobi repaint.
Born in 1921 in Pembroke, Ontario, Garth Horricks served in the RCAF just after the start of WW2. He joined 185 Squadron in Malta, was an instructor at 71 OTU in Egypt, joined the 417 Squadron fighting on the Mediterranean front, before returning to Britain and then to Canada after the war. Back in Canada, he served as a test pilot , and then as a civilian bush pilot in Australia until 1949. Returning to Canada, he joined the Air Force reserve and became a test pilot at de Havilland. On July 1, 1951, he was killed while attempting an emergency landing.
