1:50 Douglas C-54 ‘Skymaster’, Spirit of Freedom Paper Model

Description

The Skymaster played a very important part in the Berlin Airlift, 1948-1949, when the Russians had blocked all overland approaches to Berlin. Literally everything the town needed was flown in – including sweets for the childre, which earned it the nickname Candy Bomber.

Designer Cor van Haasteren has earned himself a name for highly detailed, extremely carefully designed models. Fortunately the most complicated moving parts are optional. This makes for a DD of 4 – 5. 27 model pages, 9 pages of very carefully drawn instruction sketches.
