Description

THIS KIT IS A REISSUE OF A PREVIOUS ECARDMODELS.COM LISTING

During the early 1970’s, the U.S. Air Force created the Advanced Medium STOL Transport competition (AMST) in which the winning design was intended to replace the Lockheed C-130.  Although five aircraft manufacturers submitted designs, only Boeing and McDonnell Douglas were selected to initiate development contracts. Boeing built two YC-14 prototypes as a result of the AMST competition. Testing of the prototypes was conducted from 1976 until 1979 when the AMST program was canceled. Neither YC-14 was scrapped and can still be seen today. One is located at the AMARC in Davs-Monthan AFB and the other is located at the Pima Air & Space Museum.

This Oddball-O-Rama Special Prize commissioned paper model design, by Aaron Murphy, represents the YC-14 S/N 72-1873 as it would have appeared during testing for the AMST.

Paper Model Details: This 1:98 scale paper model contains 109 parts on 8 pages including boxed wheels, rolled landing gear, simple landing gear bays, integrated tabs, boxed wing spar and opaque canopy windows. Degree of Difficulty: 3/5. If you enjoy building this paper model, please contribute a review!
