1/48 Scale XB-70 Valkyrie Supersonic Long Range Bomber Paper Model

Description

The North American Aviation XB-70 Valkyrie was the prototype version of the proposed B-70 nuclear-armed deep penetration bomber created for United States Air Force’s Strategic Air Command.
Designed in the late 1950s, the Valkyrie was a large six-engined aircraft able to fly at beyond Mach 3 at an altitude of 70,000 ft (21,000 m),
This model is dedicated to the honor and memory of Joseph A. Walker (Joe), and Carl S. Cross. On June 8, 1966, Walker and Cross were participating in a photo op mission involving the second prototype of the XB-70 Valkyrie.
Cross was the co-pilot in the A/V-2 (XB-70 Valkyrie 2), while Walker was flying in formation in an F104-N Starfighter. During the mission, the two aircraft collided, and both men were killed.
