B-17G-40-DL serial number 44-6009 was delivered to the Army Air Force on April 3, 1944. She was assigned to the 364 Bomb Squadron, 305th Bomb Group based at Chelveston England. Along the way she was given the name “Flak Eater” and received a version of the ever popular shark mouth paint scheme.

“Flak Eater” flew over thirty missions during the war. On May 23, 1945 she was briefly transferred to the 351st Bomb Group at Polbrook but returned to the U.S. on June 6, 1945. By December of that year, she was languishing with thousands of her sisters at the Reclamation Finance Center at Kingman, Arizona.

Paper model contains 22 sheets including:
Introduction sheet with aircraft history, exploded view parts diagram and what sheet parts are to be found.
Models sheets are numbered in the suggested order of assembly. Each sheet has assembly instructions and diagrams.
Over 125 parts including wing spars and fuselage and wing formers. As well as optional butt joint tabs.
Optional parts sheets for enhanced detailed landing gear wheels and engine faces.
Various diorama accessories scattered through out the parts sheets such as: ammunition boxes, oil drums, carts, ladders, etc.
Also Crew figure cut-outs.
Detailed graphic textures, with realistic weathering and surface features.
