Description

HENSCHEL P.135

When Henschel created the P.130 piston fighter project, there was no interest from Nazi Germany’s Ministry of Aviation [Reichsluftfahrtministerium RLM] so the design was not proceeded with. Henschel then revamped the P.130 as the P.135 jet fighter, to be powered by the Heinkel-Hirth HeS 011 turbojet. Now the RLM recognized its possibilities and supported this design.
The P.135 was had an aerodynamically very sophisticated layout, with a compound swept wing (less sweep near the wingtip). Projected armament consisted of 4 MK108 30mm cannon.
Unfortunately for Henschel, the war situation in 1944 dictated preference to the development of existing designs rather than venturing into the unknown with a brand new aircraft. Once again, Henschel was confronted with the fact that a promising project could not be developed any further.

The 1/48 scale paper model contains two pages of parts plus an exploded view assembly instruction page and a full color cover sheet. Degree of difficulty: 2/5.
