The VB-17G (44-83798) represent by this kit was originally built as a B-17G-95-DL. Built too late to see combat in World War II, it was converted into the VB-17 VIP configuration. During the Korean War, 44-83798 was assigned to the FEALF (Far East Air Logistics Force).
