1/4 Apollo Astronauts on the Moon Figures Paper Model

Description

Human history was made on July 20, 1969, when two American astronauts, Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin, landed the Lunar Module “Eagle” on the surface of Earth’s Moon. Their audio and video broadcasts during the 21.5 hours they remained on the Moon were the most-watched televised events in history at the time. Amongst many scientific activities carried out on the lunar surface, the astronauts also planted an American flag; a famous sequence of photos showed both astronauts on the surface, each reflected in the visor of the other’s helmet.

Designer Ken West recreates this iconic moment in this paper model, portraying Aldrin and Armstrong on the moon’s surface with Old Glory. West’s painstaking research is evident in the details of the astronaut’s suits and life-support equipment. A truly unique paper model of one of the greatest events in all of the human experience!
