The Repooblic PW-47X (Peewee47) affectionately known as the “Lord T’underin’ Bolt” is represented here in colourful European D-Day mission livery. This 1/33? scale model features many historically accurate details such as Mission “kill” markings and optional Wing Bombs. Nicknamed “Bombs Away!”, the colourful paint sheme pays tribute the great Fighter Squadrons of WW2 with slogans and “sexy” noseart.
These feisty little aircraft never actually saw battle in WW2 (most Pilots got lost during missions since the aircraft was too small to equip with navigation equipment), but the Peewee47 did prove its worth during a 1944 USO tour in Europe when seven Clowns were separated from their troupe during a nighttime German attack. The Clowns might have been lost in the dark if they hadn’t found the mighty little Peewee47 and all climbed inside the small cockpit to hide. (Clowns are good at that you know!)
