The County of York “Grizzly Bear” Squadron, No. 411 of the RCAF/RAF was formed June 1941 at Digby England. Initially equipped with Mk I and Mk II Spitfires, the unit was later moved to commence operations over the English Channel and refitted with Mk.Vs. This model depicts an early weathered Mk.II Spitfire of the 411 Squadron, coded DB-R, and assumed to be aircraft number P7923.
Originally a derivative of Marek’s 1/50 scale Spitfire models, this model aircraft has been upscaled to 1/33 scale and extensively redesigned. Along with many new parts including a fully detailed Cockpit, the model has been updated with new textures and detail elements and completely repainted with historic livery.
