Description

NACA was the Natl. Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, a predecessor of NASA. NACA used P-51 Mustangs for various testing scenarios.

This kit builds NACA 102, used by NACA to conduct high speed/high altitude scale model wing tests.
(Scale models of Wings and airfoild were attached to the wings of the P-51. The wings contained various instruments
and testing equipment.)
This aircraft was also one of many flown by NACA/NASA supersonic test pilot Robert A. Champine.
