Description
This paper model builds the P-51B aircraft “Little Ambassador” of the 5th FS, 52nd FG, 15th Air Force.
As flown by Lt. James W. Empey, June 1944 in Italy. This aircraft was later flown by 2nd Lt. Robert “Rocky” Rhodes
and forced down by enemy fire.
Empey scored five aerial victories in just 30 days flying Little Ambassador, earning him the title of Fighter Ace.
Lt. Empey flew missions in both Spitfires and Mustangs during WW2, and went on to fly another 700 combat hours
over Vietnam in F-100 Super Sabres.
