Ioan Muntenescu was a Romanian ace of WWI. Born in 1894 he was part of Nieuport 11 fighter squadron. On October 17, 1917 managed  to shot down two planes near Marasesti . It became the only Romanian pilot between 1916-1917  that shot down two planes in one battle.  He was awarded post-mortem  with the “Military Virtue”.
