Build a paper model replica of the aircraft of a famous ace!
Col. Charles MacDonald flew Putt Putt Maru while serving as the C.O. of the 475th Fighter Group. Col. MacDonald was an ace with 27 career victories. Col. MacDonald was involved in WW2 from the beginning; he was a pilot flying P-36 fighters in Hawaii on December 7, and was one of the pilots who got aloft after the Japanese attacks, patrolling to intercept the expected follow-up strikes, which never came. Col. MacDonald was assigned to the 475th in 1943, first as CO of the 432nd Squadron, then of the wing.
