Description
The CSS Tallahassee was was a twin-screw steamer and cruiser commissioned on July 20, 1864 in the United Kingdom, but was soon purchased by the Confederate States Navy. Placed under the command of Commander John Taylor Wood of the CSN, the Tallahassee conducted operations along the Atlantic coastline. During this time, it destroyed 26 ships and captured an additional seven ships.
