The Bloch MB 200 was a French day/night bomber, first designed in 1932 and produced in France and Czechoslovakia (under license). Some aircraft were still serving in both countries’ air forces when World War Two began.
A transitional design, the MB 200 had fully cantilevered wings, a closed cockpit, and was of mostly metal construction, but still had fixed landing gear. Turrets were manually operated and fitted with one gun each.
Bulgaria was issued some captured MB 200’s for employment as a German satellite air force in 1940. This paper model depicts one of these Bulgarian aircraft.
